Car lift cost: delivery & installation planning

A car lift's listed price is rarely the whole project. Some sellers quote equipment only; others bundle delivery and installation. To compare them fairly, break every quote into the same lines and note which ones each seller actually covers.

On Twisted listings, the equipment price and approved base freight appear as separate lines where available. Installation, site work and their costs are not part of those figures and require separate confirmation.

Equipment-only vs installed-package quotes

An installed package can look higher yet include work an equipment-only price leaves to you. An equipment-only price can look lower until you add unloading, an installer and an electrician. Use the table to ask every seller the same questions.

Cost planning worksheet

Pick a lift to load its current catalog equipment price and approved base freight, then add your own figures as you collect them. Only known values are added; blank fields stay unconfirmed.

Quantity-one planning only. No personal details are requested and nothing is saved or sent.

Limited to two-post, four-post and storage lift classifications. Changing the model clears your entered amounts.

Before you order

  1. Vehicle fit: exact vehicle weight, load distribution and lifting points against the model's rating, arms or runways and approved adapters.
  2. Overhead: the lowest ceiling obstruction, door tracks and openers, lights and beams at the intended lifting height.
  3. Foundation and power: concrete, anchoring and electrical requirements from the exact manufacturer manual for your model and configuration.
  4. Intended use and accessories: confirm the lift and any accessories are approved by the manufacturer for the work you plan.
  5. Delivery: your delivery ZIP, truck access and how the shipment will be unloaded.

This checklist is a planning aid, not installation approval. Verify the exact model, configuration and local requirements with the manufacturer and qualified professionals.

Delivery first, pickup optional

All catalog products can be delivered to our listed markets. Base freight is per item where approved; missing freight, special items and unloading needs are quoted. Residential freight delivery requires a forklift on site. Optional supplier pickup is a separate arrangement that needs item availability and an appointment confirmed before travel.

Sources & standards

The Automotive Lift Institute publishes buyer guidance and a directory of lift models certified to the applicable standard. Use the directory to check the exact model and configuration you are considering; certification varies by model, and listing on our site does not imply it.
